A Passionate Advocate

Thad is a passionate advocate for our community, bringing a wealth of experience and a proven track record of service and leadership. He has been a tireless champion for accessible healthcare, community-driven solutions, and equitable policies.

First Generation College Student

Thad‘s journey began in Central Illinois, where he grew up in a close-knit community that instilled in him the values of hard work, integrity, and service to others. As a first-generation college student, Thad worked his way through college, driven by a deep desire to make a tangible difference in people's lives. His path to becoming a pharmacist was fueled by this dedication and determination, ultimately leading him to become a trusted healthcare professional.

Small Business Owner & Health Care Provider

In 2013, Thad fulfilled a lifelong dream by opening Fitchburg Family Pharmacy. This independent, community-focused pharmacy has become a cornerstone of local healthcare, known for its personalized care and commitment to meeting the unique needs of each patient. Through Fitchburg Family Pharmacy, Thad has provided not only medications but also critical health services, education, and support to countless families in the area.

COVID-19 and Public Health Leader

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Thad's leadership was instrumental in the community's response. He organized and led efforts in COVID-19 testing and vaccination, vaccinating tens of thousands of Dane County residents. He set up a 17 school testing program, providing same-day PCR testing to keep classrooms open and teachers safe. Thad's innovative and compassionate approach ensured that the most vulnerable populations had access to testing and vaccinations, playing a vital role in protecting public health and safety.

Policy Experience

Thad's policy experience is equally impressive. As the former chair of the Wisconsin Pharmacy Board, he played a pivotal role in shaping healthcare policy and ensuring the highest standards of practice in the pharmacy profession. Under his leadership, the board re-wrote PHAR 7, which guides the Pharmacy Practice Act and regulates what pharmacists can do, balancing patient safety with pharmacist accountability.

Thad also spearheaded efforts to make it easier for the public to understand how to file complaints with the Board of Pharmacy, increasing transparency and accountability in the profession. Thad's policy work extended to collaborating with other healthcare professionals and stakeholders to develop comprehensive strategies for improving patient care and safety.

Health Equity Champion

Thad's commitment to public service extends beyond his professional achievements. He has actively engaged in initiatives to support underserved populations, improve local healthcare systems, and foster community resilience. His leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic, including setting up vaccine clinics for those hesitant to seek traditional healthcare, showcases his dedication to innovative, compassionate, and inclusive solutions.
